Phil Cornell and Marion Delaney started selling their jerky in 2024 soon after getting married and moving to Nashville. Phil loves being creative in the kitchen and started testing out different jerky flavors in his mini air fryer back in 2022. Marion was a loyal taste tester of every variation. Pretty soon, they knew he had created something great.
Always a romantic, Phil chose the name Snapper Creek in homage of the canal close to where Marion grew up. Together, they’ve turned a household recipe into a business grounded in flavor, nutrition, and fun.
Hi, I'm Steve! Before coming to Nashville I lived in Japan and Philadelphia, PA where I worked at various times as a carpenter, gym manager and a pre-school teacher. I started working at Snapper Creek Jerky soon after meeting Phil in the Economics PhD program at Vanderbilt University where I TA'ed his math course and consequently taught him everything he knows about math. Reading and going on long walks take up too much time for me to find more interesting hobbies.
Hey y'all, my name's Savanah and I'm a proud Tennessee native. When I'm not dealing jerky (at least actively — passively I'm always ready to deal), I may be found in the wild enjoying the lush Nashville music scenery. I have had various jobs throughout my career and bring a wide skillset of advertising, sales, business ideas, and overall good vibes to the company. While I appreciate each and every flavor, my all time favorite flavor is the Sweet and Hot.
Hi all, I'm Kaitlyn. I am from Alabama but also have lived in Chicago and now have journeyed back south to Nashville. I enjoy hiking (with my two pups), attending markets and farm stands when I’m not working them, and just the outdoors in general. I like all the flavors, but my favorite is Caribbean Fusion.”
Hi I’m Kelly! I’m a born and bred Southerner, having grown up in Alabama, lived in Atlanta, and now in the Nashville area. So, it’s unsurprising that until coming to Snapper Creek I had never heard of plant-based jerky. I love talking to our customers about anything and everything, but especially about the jerky. My favorite flavor is Island Teriyaki.
